Miasma uses the platonic form of the cube and the religious form of the shroud, situated in an idyllic freshwater environment. The voice of Timothy Morton berates the human viewer for their anthropocentric hubris: "You think you're so special, humanoid. But really everything you do is totally caught in a very specific web of fate, which is basically earth conditions, earth systems, other lifeforms and your needs and drives and wishes and unconscious fantasies and concepts and ideas and all that stuff. And your not this master actually of the universe, and your not, you haven't achieved escape velocity from your conditions." The emptiness of the cube redirects the viewer to the surrounding environment, giving the landscape agency.
